Melody Castner: Junior Class Writer
  • Melody Castner is a junior at Hubbard High School. This is her first year on the HUB staff. Melody joined the HUB because she is interested in sharing her thoughts with her peers and wants to improve her writing ability.  Melody hopes to write about topics that interest both her and the students at Hubbard High School.
 
  • Melody is currently enrolled in three-CCP classes:  Government, Chemistry, and Algebra. She is also taking Honors English this year. Melody is involved with Hubbard High School’s Ecology, French, and SADD Clubs for the third year in a row. Along with academics, Melody is a member of the school's’ marching band and plays the clarinet. Melody had also been a Hubbard cheerleader for three years, but decided to take a break to focus more on academics this year. Outside of school, Melody races soap box derby and is a National and World Champion. She has been racing soap box derby for 11 years, and loves competing in the sport.
 
  • Melody hopes to maintain her 4.0 GPA throughout high school and graduate with honors. Following graduation, Melody plans to attend Youngstown State University to further her education. She plans on earning a degree as a chemical engineer. Melody is looking forward to the challenge of writing articles for her fellow peers and hopes to build a following.
