Sydney Newell: School and Community News Editor

  • Entering her senior year at Hubbard High School, Sydney Newell is returning to the HUB, this year as a School and Community News Editor. Sydney enjoys writing, and is particularly interested in writing about sports, and local events that will spark people's interest. She hopes to show her interest in sports through her articles about the various athletics Hubbard High School has to offer. She also hopes to show her interest in local community news by writing interesting articles about the events taking place in Hubbard, Trumbull County, and across the state.

  • Sydney is involved in many other activities along with the HUB.  She is  both the Student Council and Spanish Club Secretary, and National Honor Society President. She is also involved in yearbook, broadcasting, S.A.D.D., and the Ecology, Spanish, Drama and Rotary Clubs. Along with this, Sydney is also a member of the girls’ varsity soccer team, as a captain, and the girls’ varsity softball team. Being highly involved in activities that HHS has to offer  allows Sydney to make friends easily.

  • Sydney hopes to graduate high school maintaining her 3.8 GPA, as well as graduating with honors. After high school, she hopes to attend a university, that has not yet been decided, to pursue a career in nursing. After becoming an RN, she hopes to become a neonatal nurse practitioner. Sydney looks forward to this year as a the Local News Editor for the HUB.
