The Hub

Samuel Esposito, Senior Staff Writer

  • This is Sam Esposito’s first year as a member of the HUB news site.  He joined because he loves to write essays, especially when he has the freedom to pick the topic.  He also recognizes that he has strong opinions, and would like the opportunity to voice those ideas or research information on those ideas.  Sam should have joined the HUB in prior years, but he never knew what exactly it was about.  He hopes his work will be a good addition to the HUB.
  • As a senior, Sam will be involved in the HUB, swimming, Track, and National Honors Society. Sam is very excited for his high school swim season because it is his senior, and last year. Also, and most importantly, his relay team has the chance to go to states this year.  Swimming is a sport that Sam has enjoyed throughout most of his life.  Sam is also excited for track. Although he didn't excel in this sport last year, he hopes to do much better this year.
  • Sam is extremely excited for his future beyond high school. He wants to go to YSU to become an advance placement 8th/ 7th grade math teacher, (like one of his HMS favorites, Mrs. Cindy McCoy) Sam has known that he wanted to be a teacher for a while now, but he never knew whether he might be better suited to elementary or secondary teaching. He figured out that answer this summer by being a summer swim league coach. He coached adolescents in the 8-11 age range, and he figured out that is the group he wants to teach. Sam’s more important reason for choosing to be a teacher is that through this path, he can set students on the path to try hard in school and be the best that they can be.
