Emily McConnell

  • Emily McConnell is the senior School News Editor for the HUB. As a second year member, Emily has added much to the writing staff. She was a top award winner last year at TCJA/YSU Press Day for her in-depth articles on school shootings as well as her feature stories. She was also awarded Staff Member of the Year.

  • She is currently attending YSU all day to get a jump start on her college career, but is still involved with various clubs. Along with Emily's involvement in clubs, she is a competitive dancer at J&J's Dance Depot, where her team is nationally recognized. Tap dancing is her favorite style. She also enjoys dancing on the majorette line at school. She is a varsity letter winner for the high school swim team and aspires to join the track team this year. As you can see, she likes to challenge herself, and her academic involvement gives evidence of that.

  • After graduation, Emily plans on continuing her education at YSU. She plans on double majoring in both mathematics and computer science. After graduating from college, she hopes to take a year off and travel to do mission work in different countries. Upon returning to the states, she aspires to go to graduate school and earn a Ph.D in computer science, hopefully working for Pixar one day as an animator for new movies.
