The Hub

Whitney Hendrix

  • Whitney Hendrix is entering her senior year in high school. This is her first year as a member of the HUB. Whitney was inspired to join the HUB because she has always enjoyed reading and writing, and she hopes now that she is a member, her writing skills will improve. As a member of the HUB she hopes to explore a variety of different stories to write about that will challenge the way she thinks and understands different concepts.

  • Going into her senior year, Whitney is involved in many extracurricular activities. While taking CCP and AP courses offered at Hubbard High School, Whitney also spends half of the school day taking classes at YSU. She is captain of the girls varsity soccer team and will be running track in the spring of 2021. She participates in the long jump and the sprinting relay races. Whitney is a member of the Spanish and art clubs, SADD, YSU English Festival, and the National Honors Society. She is treasurer for the NHS. Outside of school she plays club soccer for Soccer Vision Academy in the winter, spring, and summer. She also works a part time job at the Eagle Grille and Tavern.

  • As she finishes her last year in high school, Whitney plans to keep up her good grades and to graduate with honors. After high school, she wants to continue her academic and athletic career at an undecided university to study creative writing and to play soccer. Whitney’s dream is to write screenplays one day or maybe even play professional soccer. As a first year member of the HUB staff, Whitney is excited to share her writing with her classmates and peers.
